This plugin shows the average interface-load between two checks. It is written in Perl and make use of SNMP.
This plugin gets the value of the counter out of the MIB (e.g. 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.1 for InOctets). The unit of output value is bps, kbps or Mbbps, depending on the size of the value. A file (saved as /tmp/snmp-HOSTADDRESS-OID.dat) is used for calculating the value. Due to that fact this plugin can return the average load of the interface since the last execution.
This Plugin can be used for calculating an interface load of any device that supports SNMP.
Usage: ./check_ifspeed -H -C -o -w -c
