This script checks the ifOperStatus of a network interface via snmpget. The difference with the one provided by the normal distribution of Nagios is that this one works without perl.
This script checks the ifOperStatus of a network interface via snmpget. The difference with the one provided by the normal distribution of Nagios is that this one works without perl.

You must put this script on your libexec/nagios directory and give him execution file mode.

The command definition should be like this:

define command{
command_name check_ifoperstatusNAS
command_line $USER1$/check_ifoperstatNAS $ARG1$ $HOSTADDRESS$ $ARG2$
}

The usage on the definition of the service should be like this:

check_ifoperstatusNAS!!

There is a little mistake in line 18.

You can read:
elif [ $comm -eq 0 ]; then
but it must be:
elif [ $comm -eq 2 ]; then
You have to replace 0 for 2 because the answer of snmpwalk when one ethernet interface shows down is 2 not 0.

the value 0 is only for unreachable ethernet interface.

Anyway it's a good plugin.
