This is a plugin that monitors how much days are left before the Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscription expires. It uses the subscription-manager command on RHEL systems and must be run with sudo if the user is not root.
The following example would raise a warning if there is less than 30 days before subscription expires:
[nrpe@server ~]# sudo /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_rhel_subscription.sh 30
OK - Subscription expires in 357 days, that is on Fri Jan 21 00:00:00 EST 2022
[nrpe@server ~]#
If the subscription is expired, it returns a critical.
If no subscription is found for RHEL product, it returns an unknown.
