OpsGenie is a cloud-based service for dev & ops teams, providing reliable alerts notifications through multiple channels (email, SMS, phone calls, iOS & Android push notifications, group chat etc.), on-call schedule management and escalations. OpsGenie integrates with monitoring tools & services, and ensures the right people are notified for critical alerts.
OpsGenie seamlessly integrates with Nagios as well as other ops tools. Nagios can be configured to forward alerts to OpsGenie either via email or using command line utility.
OpsGenie acts as a dispatcher for Nagios alerts, 1) determines the right people to notify based on on-call schedules,and escalation policies, 2) notifies the recipients using email, text messages (SMS), phone calls and iOS & Android push notifications, and 3) escalates until the alert is acknowledged or closed, 4) when an alert is acknowledged in OpsGenie, it gets acknowledged in Nagios as well. In short, Nagios detects problems, and OpsGenie ensures the right people are working on the them and keeps alert states in Nagios and OpsGenie in sync.
OpsGenie empowers the users to control how want to be notified for different alerts. OpsGenie uses multiple notification channels according to the escalations rules specified by the users until the user views the alert using one of the OpsGenie apps.
OpsGenie provides apps for iOS and Android devices, as well as mobile web apps to enable the recipients to view not only the alert, but also all other relevant information about the alert, such as charts, server details, etc.
Alert recipients can also respond to alerts, and communicate with others, and even execute investigative actions directly from the OpsGenie apps.
OpsGenie offers offers a free trial as well as a free plan for up to 2 users.
