Tellitto is used to send pager or SMS messages, through other utilities. You might have multiple ways to get a message to your phone (pager TAP phone call, GSM modem, SMS service provider, email), and when a notification is being sent, you might want to keep trying until one of those ways succeeds. That's hard to implement inside Nagios.

Tellitto lets you use a simple config file to list all the ways to contact each person you might need to notify. You just pipe your message to tellitto, and it tries all the options, until one succeeds.
