In order to avoid hundreds or thousands of individual nagios alerts, these programs gather alerts into batches, and sends summaries, in three different formats, optimized for pagers or email. An email handler allows a simple email reply to acknowledge one or many alerts; or set services/hosts on maintenance. Three scripts make up this package: notify_by_consolidation script to write notifications to a file notifier.pl script to gather the notifications and send them out ack-email.pl script to allow replying to emails to acknowledge service alerts
