This is just a simple script that uses Net::SSH::Perl to ssh to a NetBackup server running linux. It's an adaptation of a script one of my co-workers came up with. This isn't fancy, but I have it working in my environment. I wrote it to work with the Symantec 5220 and 5230 appliances, but have confirmed it works against other NBU servers on Linux and UNIX.

This may work with other versions of Nagios, but I am using 3.5.1.
