I tried to use 'iconv' to convert from UTF-8 to ASCII with no success. Try: 'strings check_snmp_printer.sh > check_snmp_printer-ASCII.sh' 'file' now reports: check_snmp_printer-ASCII.sh: POSIX shell script text executable
