Check Oracle status & health without install Oracle client

I cant run this script in Ubuntu

Good morning, i can't run this script in my ubuntu distro with nagios or icinga. I get an error: need explicit attach before authenticating a user (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin). I va installed DBD::Oracle and DBI OK, but it not run. What hapends??

I cant use this script because get an error when executing it. The error is: need explicit attach before authenticating a user (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin) Can you tell me why? I've installed properly DBI and DBD::Oracle. Thanks
