Script is working perfectly well but it is throwing permission error

From command line, it works like a charm. But on the Nagios Xi GUI, it is displaying the below error:

(No output on stdout) stderr: Error initializing libuser: could not open configuration file `/etc/default/useradd’: Permission denied.
