DSMP2 for MS Windows offers the possibility to monitor various hardware sensors of a PC such as fan and temperature via SNMP and to send SNMP traps if thresholds are exceeded. DSMP2 supports a large number of monitoring ICs. Scripts for nagios3 are included.

DSMP2 is an extension for the Microsoft Windows SNMP service. DSMP2 shows via SNMP all detected hardware sensors with their name, the current value, the average value as well as management informations. The current values and the average values of the sensors are updated at an adjustable interval. For the average value a defined number of values will be used.
For these detected sensors certain sensors can be used for hardware monitoring. For these monitored sensors an SNMP trap is triggered when the average value of the sensor is below or above the thresholds. There are 2 steps provided: warning and critical. Since the sensors are relatively inaccurate and sometimes a single query can return incorrect values (e.g. double speed with fans, 7000rpm instead of 3500rpm) average values rather than the actual values are used for monitoring and to trigger SNMP traps. For testing it is possible to overwrite the current values and the average values with a test value, without having to change the threshold values.
Scripts for nagios3 are included.
Support is only available at forum.dsm-computer.de, section DSMP2 (sorry, the forum is german, but we will answer in english). DSMP2 is free for private use and free for commercial use after registration. Full german documentation available at http://forum.dsm-computer.de/showthread.php?38 (too big for nagios exchange :-)
