Nagios XI comes as a ready to go virtual machine (VM). This is great because once you've powered on the VM and performed some initial configuration you have a fully functional monitoring system.

The purpose of this document is to go through some of those additional configuration steps required such as:
* Configuring a static IP address
* Initial Nagios XI Configuration
* Changing the hostname of the VM
* Configuring the timezone

While a lot of these steps are documented in FAQ's, videos and forum posts I find it much easier for me to put them all in one document so I have all the exact steps.
